World Mode

How world mode plays

World mode is the original EarthGuessr pool — random locations from the entire planet, no country or category filter. Every round is a fresh continent, a fresh climate zone, and a fresh chance to surprise yourself.

It is the hardest mode in the game for that reason. There is no priming, no narrowing. You see satellite imagery and you have to place yourself anywhere on the globe. Top players average within a few hundred kilometres on world mode; for most players it is a humbling and addictive way to actually learn the planet.
